More men are delving into cosmetic procedures

It seems as though women are no longer the only ones crowding the lines to the local plastic surgeon's office. A report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that the number of men's cosmetic procedures shot up by 2 percent last year, which amounts to more than 1.1 million treatments, facelifts, Botox injections and microdermabrasions, BusinessWeek reports.

"They are not asking to look 25 or 30, they just want to look a little bit better," Dr. Seth R. Thaller, chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, told the news source.

Microdermabrasion is one way that both men and women are subtly enhancing their looks. Need more convincing? Dermabrasion procedures as a whole went up by 4 percent among men over the last year, and what used to be a complex treatment available only at the hands of professionals is now becoming increasingly available in convenient, at-home kits.

However, some of these products are notoriously messy and deliver uneven results. Those who have been unhappy with these kits should try resurf.a.stic for comparison - this easy-to-use product offers professional microdermabrasion, hydration and treatment in a super convenient stick form.
